Simona Cannas

Graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Sassari in 2003 with an experimental thesis on dog behavioral pathologies. Specialized in “Applied Ethology and Welfare of Animals of Livestock and Pet Interest” from the Institute of Animal Husbandry, University of Milan in 2006. In November 2006 he won a PhD in Animal Production, Applied Ethology Curriculum from the Institute of Animal Husbandry, University of Milan. In 2010 he obtained the Diploma of the European College of Veterinary Behavioral Medicine (ECAWBM).

She is a fixed-term researcher in the Department of Veterinary Medicine, University of Milan. She is involved in research concerning dog and cat behavior and welfare, as well as behavioral examinations at Lodi University Veterinary Hospital. She is a university lecturer for the Ethology module of the Genetics and Ethology course in the Animal Breeding and Welfare degree program. She is a speaker at various conferences, courses and seminars and the author of national and international publications in the field of applied ethology and animal welfare.
